Psalm 95.1-7a

Psalm 95 has been the morning invitation to praise for centuries. It has been sung as the first psalm of the Matins service to set the tone for the whole day. Why can you sing to the LORD today?

Job 9.1-35

For younger children read at least Psalm 95.3 and repeat it so that it might be written on the heart. You might also ask, “What kind of crown did our great King Jesus wear?

For older children you could read v 33 again. Ask, “What is an arbiter?” “Who is our arbiter between us and God?”

John 4.46-54

For younger children read at least John 4.48 and repeat it so that it might be written on the heart. You might also talk about how we love the miracles of Jesus but all that we need is his word of forgiveness.

For older children you could ask, “Is there anything wrong with asking Jesus for a miracle? Was Jesus rebuking this father for asking for a miracle?”

Write it on the heart verses – Psalm 95.3 and John 4.48

Small Catechism for the week: Second Article (Part 1) – I believe that Jesus Christ, true God, begotten of the Father from eternity, and also true man, born of the Virgin Mary, is my Lord.

Small Catechism question for the day: How do you know Jesus is true God? Hebrews 1.6 And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.” We know he is true God because God invites even angels to worship him and only God should receive worship.
