What We Believe

Our Savior Lutheran Church is part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). As a Christian church body, our calling is to nurture the faith of our members and to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.

WELS is the third largest Lutheran church body in the United States with 1,272 churches and 376,177 baptized members.

WELS supports work in mission fields in the United States and in countries around the world.

We support mission work in our community and around the world because we believe that God’s Son Jesus Christ has truly won forgiveness and eternal life for all people through his death on the cross (John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:19). And we believe that it is only by hearing the good news of Jesus Christ that people are brought into a right relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the Word of Christ” (Romans 10:17).
